UTERINE CANCER
MY VITAL PARENTHESIS
The author, Raquel Aldavero, started to suspect that something in her body wasn't right. After many visits with the specialists, she was diagnosed with metastatic cervical cancer on September 2020. She was forced to put her busy life on hold to fight the illness, at a time when she had just started working for a new company for three months, was living as a single-mother with her two pre-adolescent children, and in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
Her own personal experience serves as the basis for this true story of recovery, where she not only talks about cancer but also approaches other matters such as facing important decisions, overcoming fear, acceptance, alternative therapies, nutrition and supplementation, mind work, external support… Everything she used for her rapid recovery.
The second part of the book is a compilation of a series of final reflections which the author has gathered throughout her whole process of recovery, and which do not leave the reader unattended.
This book comes to fill the gap that exists in english narrative on personal experiences of women who have overcome uterine cancer.
A light-hearted true story, written in simple and direct language which engages the reader from the first page, narrating events and mentioning tools to help find your own.
